Products

Recent technological advancements in the wastewater industry are improving the way we handle and treat our sewage wastewater.

Many of these advancements have contributed to a cleaner environment by protecting our ground water, rivers and lakes from the contaminants in human waste. Cleaner water discharged to the environment also benefits the consumer by considerably extending the life of onsite waste water systems. Often times, advanced onsite waste systems can be installed on smaller or more sensitive sites, saving many thousands of dollars.

At Aquasource we are committed to providing the highest quality onsite wastewater treatment and disposal products available:

AEROBIC TREATMENT UNITS (ATU's)
The Problem: Used to be the only way to treat waste water was by sending it to a tank, separating the solids and then disposing of the poor quality liquid to the ground around your home, cottage or business. Septic bacteria are not efficient at treating waste, and often the water drained away carrying billions of dangerous pathogens into the environment. The suspended solids and organics in this liquid became food to slime forming bacteria that generate odors and a bio-mat that can plug soil particles preventing the poorly treated liquid from percolating into the ground.

The Solution: AquaSource is the Finger Lakes leading source for Nayadic and EnviroGuard aerobic treatment units (ATU'S). Tested and approved by NSF Standard 40 as Class 1 systems to treat domestic sewage to a clear, odorless liquid. Our ATU's are available for residential and commercial applications from 500 to 1,500 gallons per day per unit and can be installed in parallel banks for higher flows.

Benefits:

  • Reduced absorption areas and leach fields
  • Environmentally Friendly
  • Clear, odorless waste
  • Low energy requirements
  • Small foot print for restrictive lots
  • Fiberglass tanks for easier placement

Enviro-Guard is the ultimate in wastewater treatment: a self-contained system that removes, organic material, solids, pathogens, and nitrogen. Enviro-Guard is the only choice for sensitive environments.

Enviro-Guard starts with the Multi-Flo treatment engine, which is enhanced by primary treatment and flow equalization. Enviro-Guard systems include a 500-gallon primary treatment tank and 600-gallon dose tank with associated dosing pump and timer. These tanks condition and hold wastewater for dosing to the treatment tank. Treatment efficiency is maximized by controlling dose frequency, interval, volume, and rate. Enviro-Guard is designed to condition, dose, and treat wastewater such that the effluent can be recycled to the native environment.

Enviro-Guard systems remove organic materials solids by over 98 percent. Effluent concentrations of organic material and solids are routinely less than 5 mg/L. In addition, Enviro-Guard reduces total nitrogen, mostly nitrate, by over 60 percent. Were that not enough, NSF conducted a test to determine how long an Enviro-Guard system would take to return to proper functioning after two-months of nonuse The result: two days!

Enviro-Guard is the only solution for sensitive environments, restricted sites, and seasonal or intermittent uses.

WHITE KNIGHT MICROBIAL INOCULATORS

Problem

The Problem: Anaerobic slime forming bacteria found in traditional septic systems can cause bio fouling of a subsurface disposal area, leachfield or sand filter. The result can be sewage breakthrough and surfacing in the yard or just odors around a septic tank or leachfield or even sewage backing up into a home or business. This can be a nuisance not to mention downright dangerous. Raw sewage and associated pathogens can contaminate the water table, enter a home via a sump pump basin, or be carried in to your home from contact with pets or children playing in the yard.

The Solution: White Knight to the rescue ! The White Knight is a system designed to retrofit into just about any structurally sound traditional septic tank and converts the septic system to a working Aerobic Unit. With an initial and annual dose of IOS 500 aerobic and facultative bacteria. These aerobic microbes start an efficient digestive process. These good bacteria actually can permeate a fouled leaching area and consume the bio-slime that was plugging the soils. In many cases, the soils will begin to percolate again. A comprehensive site appraisal assures that the system will eliminate the clogging and the warranty maintenance program will assure that it will not return. A lifetime warranty is associated with the appropriate maintenance program and original site assessment.

Solution

INFILTRATOR LEACHING CHAMBERS

Waste water from a septic system or aerobic treatment unit is sent to a distribution field where it can percolate into the ground for further treatment and disposal. Leaching chambers may allow for a smaller, more efficient drain field because they provide much greater surface area and storage within the earth then the old "stone and pipe" technology. An additional benefit of a gravel-less leach field is less construction impact of heavy loaders causing damage by compacting the dispersal area.

SEPTIC EFFLUENT FILTERS

Insoluble solids can damage Onsite wastewater disposal and leaching systems. Simple effluent filters can protect your expensive drain field by keeping the solids in the tank. At Aquasource, we install an effluent filter on every septic system we install. These filters can often be easily and inexpensively retrofitted into most existing systems and require very little maintenance.

Bord na Mona's Puraflo
Treatment System
Is Certified By NSF To NSF/ANSI Standard 40
Bord NA Móna has been supplying wastewater treatment systems in Ireland for over 20 years. Our company offers a technical capability, proven experience and a wide range of wastewater treatment solutions. The Puraflo Peat Biofilter System from Bord NA Móna has been offered in the U.S. since 1993 with a strong proven track record of performance. The Puraflo Peat Biofilter Treatment System from Bord NA Móna Products US Inc. is the natural answer to domestic wastewater treatment requirements. Utilizing a unique biofibrous peat filter media, the Puraflo treatment system is one of the longest running, top performing, most reliable systems on the market today.

The modular design of the Puraflo system allows maximum flexibility for use on virtually all installation sites. The most common system applications include individual residential sites, community cluster systems, commercial, light industrial, business and office parks, schools and subdivision developments. The Puraflo treatment system can also be used for repairs. Bord NA Móna Products US Inc. offers all inclusive services ranging from pre-planning consultation, system design recommendations, material supply options, installation oversite, performance guarantees, service contracts and maintenance inspections.
How the Puraflo Treatment System works:
  • The wastewater flows from the home into a septic tank where primary treatment takes place. The solid materials settle out and the liquid effluent flows by gravity into a pump tank.
  • The liquid effluent is then pumped by time dosing, at specified intervals, into the Puraflo modules. The effluent is then evenly distributed onto the biofibrous peat media.
  • A combination of biological, chemical and physical processes treat the wastewater as it passes through the peat media. Typical wastewater residence time is between 36-48 hours before dispersment.
  • Treated effluent often emerges from the basal area of the Puraflo modules and is dispersed through a gravel pad and ultimately recharged back into the groundwater system. The other methods of disposal of treated effluent include
subsurface discharge through LPP systems, drip irrigation, mounded systems and other conventional disposal methods.
  • High levels of treatment are achieved with the Puraflo Biofilter Treatment System ensuring protection of the groundwater system and surrounding environments.

All Peat Media Is Not Similar
  • Puraflo peat fibre is imported from the Republic of Ireland and has a proven longer life expectancy compared to other moss media.
  • Puraflo peat fibre has a greater resistance to decay and degradation. This is due to its extremely fibrous structure and high lignin content.
  • Puraflo peat fibre has a noted life expectancy of 15 or more years prior to replacement. Some systems have been functioning with the original peat fibre for over 20 years. Of course, media life expectancy is dependent upon multiple variables including waste strength, design flows and proper system maintenance.
